Tea is that wonderful cup of ‘ahhh’ and taste that can be enjoyed anywhere and at any time of the day. Ever wonder where that relaxing and refreshing cup of tea comes from? All black, oolong, green and white tea come from the Camellia sinensis bush. It is picked by hand or by machines and usually has 3 growing periods. Early season which is the first flush, middle season typically called second flush and the end of the season teas.
Teas that come from a single garden are called estate teas while blended teas come from a variety of different regions. Each of these types of tea has their own distinct taste. Tea can also be flavoured with a variety of fruits, flowers, spices, chocolate, nuts and much more.
Teas that do not come from the Camellia sinensis bush and do not contain any tea leaves are called tisanes. They include Rooibos, fruits, Yerba Mate and herbal blends.
